Assistance on the Way for Dairy Producers
President Barak Obama signed a bill last week that will provide $350 million dollars to the struggling dairy industry. USDA Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will have 30 days to determine how to divide the funds throughout the industry. Members of the House Ag committee support a program that would provide $290 million to the MILC program and $60 million to purchase dairy products for government health and nutrition programs.
