The Adair County Cooperative Extension Service will be offering an educational program beginning in January 2012 for those who are new to gardening or who are looking to expand their knowledge of gardening. This program will emphasize the basic principles of gardening including site selection, soil preparation, pest management, when & what to plant, harvesting, and food preservation.
A total of 5 sessions will be held, with each session to be held at the Adair County Extension Office and will begin at 6:00 pm CT. Each session will last approximately 2 hours. Classes will be taught by Extension Agents and Master Gardener volunteers.

Session 2- February 28th
Spring Growing Season & Pest Control
Session 3- May 29th
Summer Growing Season & Pest Control
Session 4- July
Harvesting & Storing
Session 5 – August
Fall Growing Season & Field Trip
Participation is free but participants must register by January 20th . Class size is limited. Each participant will receive a free soil test, a site visit, individual consultation during the growing season, and University of Kentucky research based materials.
